Getting a good Feng
Shui master/advisor
In the
last 20 years, Feng Shui has become very popular in the UK, USA, Europe and
Australia.
As a
result of this popularity, many people have set themselves up as feng shui
consultants or advisors. Most of them have declared themselves masters of
this science after reading just a few feng shui books, attending a few feng shui
sessions, and this has led to a lack of standardization and quality control.
In
recent times
the problem faced by feng shui practitioners is how to set a recognized
quality standard. Unlike doctors and solicitors who have to train and pass
examinations in order to become qualified in their field, some feng shui
advisors call themselves masters without having studied with a master.
The
genuine feng shui
advisor does not want to reveal their true secrets whilst the so called feng
shui advisor does not want others to know whether they are actual masters or
not. It is therefore very difficult to get discussion going between them as
they each have their own interest to protect, and as a result the unity and
development of feng shui is hindered.
The most common way to differentiate the good from the bad is by word of
mouth. It is also prudent to find out with whom the feng shui master has
studied, how long they have studied with their teacher and how many years of
on-the-ground experience they have.
On
average a feng shui advisor needs to spend between 6 to 10 years learning and
practicing with his teacher before he can become an independent
practitioner.
